Forty-one barangay officials in Calapan have recently graduated from the Institute of Barangay Governance and Management (IBGM).
The IBGM is a scholarship program for barangay officials intended to train them with new skills in public service and governance.
“Isang programa ito ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na maghahatid ng bagong kaalaaman para sa mga elected government officials at public servants na mahigit isang taon na sa serbisyo,” the Calapan City said.
Present during the commencement exercise were Mayor Arnan Panaligan and Sangguniang Panlungsod members Hon. Marian Tagupa-Brucal, Chairperson, Committee on Education, Hon. Jocy Neria, Hon. Mylene De Jesus, Hon. Rafael Panaligan Jr., Hon. Felix Flores and Hon. Charleston Valencia.
“Layunin ng Scholarship Program na ito na mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga Barangay Officials sa Basic Laws, Ordinances, at Standard Proceedings na itinakda ng City Government gayundin ang mahahalagang nilalaman ng Local Government Code,” the city council said.
